Mon. 3-9-15 Vigil to say no to bigotry and Israel’s human rights abuses

peaceful vigil to say no to ALL bigotry and Israel’s apartheid and human

Two organizations that are part of the overall Israel lobby, the Sacramento
Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Jewish Federation, are
holding a “Stand up Against Anti-Semitism: Confronting Hate” rally at the
West Steps of the State Capitol, 10th & Capital from 5:30-6:30pm.  Both
these groups have falsely labeled criticism of Israel and boycott &
divestment (BDS) campaigns as anti-Jewish and have advocated for taking away
students' right to criticize Israel on UC campuses, so it is concerning that
this rally may include attacks on free speech and defending Israel’s
egregious record of violations of international law and human rights
including the illegal occupation of Palestine, apartheid, ethnic cleansing
and war crimes.

Human rights activists be vigiling along 10th & Capitol with the messages
that: 1) No bigotry is acceptable, whether against Jews, Christians, Muslims
or any religious, racial or ethnic groups or against
Palestinians or other Arabs; 2) Israel and the United States must respect
international law and human rights; and 3) neither the boycott, divestment
and sanctions (BDS) movement nor criticizing Israel are anti-Jewish.

Meet at sidewalk along 10th Street just west of the west steps. Meters stop
