[Davisgig] Comcast 2 Gbps Residential FTTH offer - Thoughts?

Hi All

Even if this Comcast upgrade happens, it is still imperative we do this
muni fiber project for Davis

1) Our town owns the muni network, its private to our town, we will be
able to send data between locations in town for little costs, and
without having to buy cable tv package :)
2) This is just the monopoly coming in with more monopoly tactics,
prices and service. Havign an alternative is better for everyone for
all the competition
reasons we are touting for our own network. Comcast would lower its
price, for fear of losing biz to the muni network.
3) Our project will be able to provide a community revenue stream,
Comcast wont.
4) We can't have big pipe private interconnects to UCD, DJUSD, or City
for residences/business with comcast
5) Ours goes up to 11.
6) No one needs to pay $300 per month for Internet access.

Onward!

Thanks
RAN
