Urgent: Call Obama and Congress members now: Israel must stop bombing Gaza

Tell them:

Israel claims that it is acting in “self defense”  in responding to rockets from Gaza is blatantly false <http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/why_israel_lies_20140803> .  The evidence is the reality of the ground:  Israel has been killing Palestinians in Gaza before and after the blockade started in 2006 irrespective of whether rockets are fired.  This latest round of intensive bombing that began in early July has already killed nearly 1,900 Palestinians, most of them civilians and more than 400 of them children. Israel says 64 of its soldiers have been killed, along with three civilians. 

Not only is Israel’s bombing of Gaza collective punishment and targeted at civilians – both war crimes, it is a violation of international law for Israel to use disproportional force. Israel’s high powered aerial combing is completely disproportional to the unsophisticated and largely ineffective rockets shot from Gaza.

Israel’s blockading of Gaza’s borders and its constant attacks on Gaza civilians is at best ethnic cleansing and at worse genocide as stated openly by Israel’s leaders <http://www.imemc.org/article/68744> .
