Senate Bills 9 and 10, which would effectively end single family zoning statewide by allowing 6-10 units on what are now single family lots, are moving quickly through the State Assembly. Click here <https://no2rezone.wordpress.com/contact-ca-assembly-on-sb-9-sb-10/> to read this alert online.

Please email and call area Assembly members with this message:

“I urge Assemblymember ____ to voice their opposition and to vote no on SB 9 and SB 10. These bills do nothing to provide affordable housing, are harmful to existing neighborhoods, and take away local zoning authority.

I look forward to hearing the Assemblymember’s views at the upcoming Community Forum being co-hosted by several Sacramento neighborhood associations and organizations.” *

More information

Senate Bill SB 9 <https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220SB9> would end single family zoning and neighborhoods statewide, allowing 6-8 units per single family lot and up to 100% lot coverage, eliminating yards and vegetation.

Senate Bill SB 10 <https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220SB10> would allow up to ten units on a single family lot and give any city council in California the ability to: 1) overturn voter-approved ballot measures that protect open space, shorelines and other lands, and 2) override all zoning including single-family, inviting the demolition and gentrification of older, diverse, multi-family and single-family areas.
