<p>As an Assemblymember and former
local mayor, I have seen how
broadband can transform a community
through virtual connection, and the
COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated
clearly that internet connectivity
across the state is not equitable
when it comes to access, cost, and
speed.<br>

region to discuss internet access
and collective solutions. This event
is an opportunity to hear about new
state legislation, funding and local
initiatives currently underway to
narrow the digital divide, and ask
any questions you may have about
internet connectivity in California.</p>

<p>The digital divide is a legislative
priority, and as your legislative
representative, I am working hard to
bring awareness and resources to
you. This year, I authored the <a

for All Act of 2021,"</a> which
was enacted into law and prioritizes
the deployment of broadband
infrastructure in California's most
vulnerable and unserved rural and
urban communities. In addition, my
legislative colleagues and I, in
partnership with Governor Newsom,
invested a historic $7.5 billion
dollars towards this effort. This is
a critical step forward in our
mission to construct, improve, and
maintain an equitable broadband
infrastructure, and I am excited to
work with our local leaders who will
play an instrumental role in
connecting their communities.<br>
