We agree. We need a feasability study report weighing various
options on implementing fiber optic in Davis. We are prepared to
get that RFP bid out and started through donations raside by our
501c3 non profit, DCN and DavisGIG volunteers so this task force can
review it and make recommendations. <br>

What we don't want is to get trapped in a lot of surveys, meetings,
and repeat a lot of what DavisGIG has already accomplished over the
year, and THEN put out a call for this FSR. Better save City money
to go into preliminary engineering of whatever the recommended
option the task force choses based up a thorough study of the FSR
balanced against finances and needs. <br>

A delay is only worthwhile if the council directs city staff
to work with DavisGig. Otherwise, it would most likely be
wasted time. City staff are already committed to their
proposal, and without direction will see no reason to change
anything.<br>

Other options would be to email city council members now, to
prepare them. The more emails, the better.<br>
