It's kind of like what Omsoft has been doing in unincorporated Yolo 
County, except for the co-op part:  sign up customers until commitments 
reach feasibility threshold, then build and service.

Can you say a little more? I?m a loyal Omsoft customer, inside the western edge of Davis. Omsoft?s signal is on AT&T?s UVerse copper wires, AFAIK, and since we?re at the hairy edge of the exchange distance, our bandwidth and reliability aren?t great.
?Fiber to the Om? https://www.omsoft.com/om-ftth/ <https://www.omsoft.com/om-ftth/>  seems to be offered in spots in Davis, and is a collaboration with AT&T. From that page, it?s not clear why it?s only available in those spots, and whether they have plans to expand it.

Hi? All

We just finished out 2nd fiber deployment North of Davis. We are looking 
for our next fiber projects now, and are evaluating underserved areas 
for CASF? grant money assistance. We welcome any ideas.

We would love to work with a co-op of fiber member owners, if there is 
interest and someone wants to help get that going, we'd look at working 
with it.

As far as ATT doing more fiber in Davis. We suspect they will in areas 
where its most cost effective for them to do so. At this point, if its 
not a new development, they have only been working in areas with poles, 
that we can tell.

Hi all. I have served on the boards of cooperatives, and have some 
experience with cooperative bylaws (although I am *not* a lawyer!). I am 
pretty busy for the remainder of this year, but could certainly attend a 
meeting or two, and otherwise try to offer some support.

I will also mention that on several occasions, people have suggested 
that a Yolo-area cooperative might get some help from staff at the 
Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Co-op, which offers telecommunication services.
