Thank you, Matt. And Jim.

I'm striving not to have my preconceptions influence my reaction, but I heard a lot of "support" without specifics. Indeed, two of the most-specific points were negative ones (Walsh mentions the Astound-Wave deal, and Deos mentions the County spending discretionary money on law enforcement). It's nice to hear that access should be treated as a utility, but... we have two incumbents answering, and I didn't hear anything that lead me to believe the situation was going to improve soon. Anyone else hear differently?

They need to be coaxed to see the light. That?s up to us. They work for us. Business as usual is no longer acceptable.

I request all who are interested in advancing discussion of community broadband to offer public comments at the UC. Instructions for commenting are in the attached agenda.

 I agree with Lorenzo.? They need to be coaxed.? An important next step is to invite each of them to attend the Utilities Commission meeting discussion of the topic on Wednesday.? 

I have some other ideas as well that I am working on to defuse the "too much money" argument that Dan Carson and others have put forward.
