Sorry for sending out the wrong date last week. City council meetings 
are on Tuesdays.? Again the time is 8:30pm.

This is an interesting article about Verizon's small cell deployment in 
Sac. The article seems to indicate that XG, the broker company, is 
listing Fiber as an asset to small cell 5G operators like Verizon. in 
addition to? the physical light pole and power availability, there 
database lists if its fibered,? it would be good to check that with XG.? 
If this is accurate having publicly owned dark fiber in the City would 
be a revenue generator for the City.

ALSO
Comcast DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit? service is available now in Davis with the 
higher capacity speeds. Still on Coax, but that's great there are better 
options now for Davis.? I expect the Comcast guy Philip will let 
everyone know that tonight.

This is an excellent letter, well worth a read.

Industry lobbyists on the FCC BDAC have put forth their recommendation 
that all municipal networks be privately owned. Last week the CTO of 
City of New York resigned b/c of all the blatant industry dominated 
outcomes. This is the Gilded Age again.

Dramatically Undercuts Local Governments Ability to Improve and 
Accelerate National Broadband Access

In a strongly worded letter submitted on April 12, 2018, CLIC has 
communicated to the FCC its deep concerns regarding the selection 
process and associated restrictive outcomes of its Broadband Deployment 
Advisory Council (BDAC). As CLIC states: ?The Commission?s startling 
failure to include adequate local government representation in the BDAC 
process...has unsurprisingly resulted in BDAC recommendations that would 
undercut the important potential of local governments to help improve 
and accelerate broadband access and availability throughout the nation.? 
 ?CLIC?s letter details the failings of the BDAC member selection 
process and sets forth eight specific concerns with Article 12 of BDAC

10am for an hour on Thursday morning. Corning is the company that 
invented Fiber Optic Cable oh so many years back.? If you want to stop

The Corning Fiber Product Display Van will be at Omsoft on Thursday 
5/3/2018 at 4pm. We would like to invite anyone interested in getting 
there hands on some of Corning's latest Fiber to the Home Products, and
