Hi

Just want to remind everyone there is at least some appetite in the City 
to get off of Comcast, and go with a community network. The BATF has? 
preliminary cost figures from CCG communications, and is asking for 
clarification. Hopefully this will be made "public in the coming months" 
And as always, members of the public are invited to come to the 
Broadband Advisory Task force (BATF)

Generally on the 4th wed of the month at 6:30pm.

I. Hate. Comcast. They should be run out of town!I just ditched my cable 
because of price creep, and a contract ending.
I had 140ch / 100mb plan that I used to pay $98.00 for. Then it went to 
$108, with the loss of a few channels, then $114, when the "contract" 
ended it went to $150. That's when I said nope, no more for me. I spent 
1.5 hrs in the phone with them to try and get a better deal. At every 
turn they made it near impossible to lower my cost without getting a two 
year contract.
So I just kept internet (at 50mb now not 100 as before) for $75 incl 
modem rental. I plan to get my own modem to save $10p/mo
Once you a get package with them you're screwed. if you want to lower 
costs later. The price for each service floats around depending on what 
service you want to eliminate. Deceptive and illegal in my book.
Can't wait for city based service
